PE: Year 4 PE lessons will take place on a Wednesday and alternate Fridays. Please ensure your child comes to school in the correct PE uniform with them – a plain white T-Shirt, black shorts/tracksuit bottoms and pumps/trainers.

Homework: Homework is set weekly either via ClassDojo, Seesaw or their homework books. Children will be provided with a sheet to work on or their homework book to write in. This must be returned by Wednesday.

Reading Books: Guided Reading takes place each week. Your child will read in class in a group and then be set homework to read (instructions will be given in reading diaries). Reading books are changed dependent on when the book is finished in the guided reading group.  

Please ensure your child reads the part of the book that has been set for homework and has their reading book and diary in school every day as reading days will vary. If a book is lost, then there may be a charge.   We encourage children to read a wide range of books in addition to their school reading book, Visits to the local library are highly recommended.

Topic: Year 4 will be covering some exciting topics this year: Romans, Victorians and Splash! (All things to do with water)

Playtime snacks: Playtime snacks such as fruit and cereal bars are permitted. Crisps, sweets and chocolates are not allowed.

Water Bottles: Water Bottles are provided for each child and filled with fresh water every morning.

Home time       Please ensure your child knows who is coming to collect them each day and if it is someone who would normally not collect them, please inform the office.

We do encourage parents / carers to collect their children after clubs especially during the darker evenings.

Medical Concerns: If you child requires an inhaler or other medication, please ensure a medical form has been completed and all medication is in date.

Uniform: Please ensure correct uniform is worn, including ties and school shoes. All uniform (including ties) are clearly labelled with your child’s name.
