Year 3

Miss Punch – Class Teacher & Mrs Dixon -Teaching Assistant

PE: Year 3 PE lessons will take place on Thursday afternoon and Friday morning in the autumn term. The children will come to school wearing their PE kit on this day.

Year 3 are due to have swimming in Autumn 2. I will update you on this nearer the time.

The PE kit is a plain white t-shirt and black shorts/joggers with no logo. Please ensure your child has the appropriate PE uniform and that it is labelled. Children should not wear earrings/jewellery on a PE day.

Please ensure your child wears school jumper/cardigan on a PE day over their PE kit.

Homework: Homework will be given out on a Friday and is due in the following Wednesday. Children will have a homework book to complete the work in.

Spellings:

Reading Books: Reading books are also the children’s Guided Reading books. Reading books are changed dependent on when the book is finished in the guided reading group. Reading packs are to be brought in every day. If a book is lost, then there may be a charge. Children should read daily at home.  

Topic: The children will learn the following topics this year: Shake, Rattle and Roll – volcanoes and earthquakes; Walk like an Egyptian and Food Glorious Food.

Water bottles: Water Bottles are provided for each child and filled with fresh water every morning.

Hometime: Please ensure your child knows who is coming to collect them each day and if it is someone who would normally not collect them please inform the office. WE do encourage parents/carers to collect their children after clubs, especially in the darker evenings.

Medical Concerns: If you child requires an inhaler or other medication please ensure a medical form has been completed and all medication is in date.

Uniform: Please ensure all uniform (including ties) are clearly labelled with your child’s name.

Class Dojo: Year 3 will be using Class Dojo as a reward system (house points) and to keep you informed of homework and to answer any questions you may have if you can’t see me during the school day.
