Year 6

Mrs. Muntoni, Mrs. Sherratt, Mrs. Probhaker, Mrs. Dixon, Miss. B

Welcome to Year 6!

PE: Year 6 PE lessons will take place on Friday and Monday afternoons in the Autumn Term. The children will come to school wearing their PE kit on this day.   The PE kit is a plain white t-shirt and black shorts/joggers with no logo. Please ensure your child has the appropriate PE uniform and that it is labelled. Children should not wear earrings/jewellery on a PE day.   Please ensure your child wears school jumper/cardigan on a PE day over their PE kit.  For the first half term, we will be swimming on Monday afternoons so please remember to bring your swimming kits in a labelled bag.

Homework:  Spellings will be set via Spelling Shed on a Friday and sent home to practise for a test the following Friday.  If your child prefers to practise their spellings on paper, they can hand this in on a Friday instead.  Homework in year 6 will be set mostly on LBQ

Reading:  Reading is one of the most important things your child can do at home to improve their learning.  Children are expected to read at home every day. Reading diaries will be checked in school every week.

Curriculum: The children will learn the following topics this year: World War Two, Climb Every Mountain and the Greeks.

Water Bottles: Water Bottles are provided for each child and filled with fresh water every morning.

Medical Concerns: If your child requires an inhaler or other medication please ensure a medical form has been completed and all medication is in date.

Uniform: Please ensure all uniform (including ties) are clearly labelled with your child’s name. Children should wear correct uniform including their tie to school every day unless they have PE.

ClassDojo: Year 6 will be using ClassDojo as a reward system (house points), to keep you informed of homework, and to answer any questions you may have if you can’t see me during the school day. Please feel free to message us with any concerns or questions. We will endeavour to reply as soon as possible.
