In order to implement our intent for a broad and balanced, experiential, inspirational, language-rich, enquiry-based and immersive curriculum, we have decided to take a topic approach. At OLA, this means that in History and Geography we have identified topics which enable us to plan a curriculum that meets the needs of our children. The topics are sequenced to that children can make links with previous learning and develop a deeper understanding of key concepts as they progress through the school. We have linked (where relevant) our teaching of Art and Design and Design Technology to these themes, as well as our English texts.
